Family Ministries News and Calendar

Family Ministries at Blessed Sacrament exists to serve the needs of young families (those with children 5th grade and younger.) Our Youth and Young Families Minister is Christina Peters. We provide social events, assistance with physical needs (meals, baby clothes, etc.), seminars on various topics, a babysitter database, and more! Keep reading for a sampling of what is going on in the coming months!

Children's Chapel

Children’s Chapel is held in the parish hall during the first part of the mass. The children are led in a simplified liturgy, and also have the opportunity to sing beautiful music! All elementary children (ages 4 and up) are welcome.

Preschool Chapel

Preschool chapel is designed for children ages 2-4. Your little ones will get to sing, play, and learn about Jesus during the first part of the mass. Then just before communion, they will be walked into church to join you.

Mom’s Group

Mom’s group meets at La Mirada Regional Park every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The play area where we meet is located near the tennis courts, off of Adelfa Street. All mothers of the parish are welcome to join us.

Grandmas of all ages, we want to specially invite you to join us at Mom’s group. Bring a chair or a blanket and come get to know us – we want to get to know you!

Family Socials

Old-fashioned church “socials” were a time for people to get together and just enjoy each other’s company. Blessed Sacrament is resurrecting this tradition for the young families in our parish! Family Socials are fun, relaxed events where the kids will play (we promise, they’ll have a great time!) and the adults can play, talk, eat, and enjoy fellowship with other parents in a similar phase of life. Bring your kids and come have fun! Donations are requested to help offset costs for food and supplies. Family socials happen on an occasional basis; contact the parish office for more information.
